Is it really free to join?
Yes. There are no fees to join The Cabanas Connection attorney directory. We’re a nonprofit focused on providing legal support to people in need. We simply ask that you uphold the same standards of service and integrity that we uphold.
Is this compliant with Florida Bar rules?
Yes—The Cabanas Connection is fully compliant with Rule 4-7.22 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
- We do not charge any referral fees.
- All advertising is reviewed and approved by the Florida Bar’s Ethics Advertising Department.
As a qualifying provider, we meet all requirements, including:
- Never engaging in in-person solicitation
- Referring only to attorneys lawfully permitted to practice in Florida
- Never pressuring or incentivizing attorneys to refer to other services
- Providing full transparency regarding office locations and participating attorneys
- Never holding ourselves out as a law firm or provider of legal services
- Maintaining a panel of lawyers from at least four different firms
We also report annually to The Florida Bar, and all participating attorneys are responsible for notifying the Bar of their participation or withdrawal using the official Bar reporting form, available here:

How does TCC choose which attorney to refer a client to?
We consider the legal practice area, the attorney’s experience, location, language, availability, payment options, and any specific client preferences. Our goal is to match each client with the most suitable attorney for their situation—not just any attorney.
How do I get reviewed to join the directory?
Once you submit a form, our team will review your firm’s reputation, areas of practice, responsiveness, and client experience. If you're a great fit, we’ll invite you to meet with our team for a brief conversation before final approval.
Can I refer people to TCC?
Absolutely. We encourage our attorneys to send unqualified leads or individuals who need legal direction to TCC. This keeps clients within the network and ensures they get the support they need—even if your firm isn’t the right fit.
Do I have to pay a referral fee if I take a TCC lead?
No. We are a nonprofit that does not sell or charge for referrals. There are no referral fees involved.
Am I obligated to take every client TCC sends me?
Not at all. You maintain full discretion over which clients you choose to work with. We only ask that you treat every TCC referral with care and keep us informed of any changes to the practice areas you handle so we can update our records accordingly.
What happens if I stop taking leads or want to leave the network?
You can pause or step away from the network at any time. Just let us know so we can update our internal directory and notify the FL Bar.
