FLE Immigration 2025

Hialeah, FL — Wednesday, September 24, 2025 — In a time when immigration is reshaping life across the nation, The Cabanas Connection and Florida National University co-hosted FNU Talks: Immigration 2025 The Big Changes Ahead, bringing five immigration attorneys and community members together for a night of legal education, and connection to legal support.

The event featured a panel of attorneys, including Michelangelo Croce on Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers, Cesar E. Guerrero (on behalf of Sandra Clavijo) on Immigration Court and Deportation Defense, Linda Liang on Investment Immigration, Luis Mariano Garcia on Asylum, and Isht Vatsa on National Interest Waivers, with Sergio Cabanas Founder of The Cabanas Connection serving as the moderator and presenter alongside his son and co-founder Sebastian Cabanas, Yetzabet Bello hosting the Q&A and ensuring everyone had a chance to get their questions answered, and Jairo Cruz from Florida National University presenting the university’s MOU and the benefits of joining the University.

Attendees not only heard in-depth discussions on major immigration pathways and challenges but also had the opportunity for one-on-one consultations with the attorneys. Immigration affects millions across the U.S., from families separated by removal orders to workers uncertain of their status. In 2024, ICE removed nearly 68,000 noncitizens in the third quarter alone—a 69% increase year-over-year—with nationwide removals exceeding 312,000, about 79% involving individuals without criminal convictions. The newly enacted One Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1, 2025) allocates over $170 billion for border security, enforcement, and deportation, including funding to deport up to one million people per year.

With legal terrain shifting so rapidly, The Cabanas Connection’s legal education events, like this one are vital, now more than ever. They bridge the gap between communities and expert guidance.
